One of the overarching concerns for me as an artist has been to create a kind of theater that is personal and emotional, that speaks directly to the human condition without offering placard statements about what is right or wrong. In other words, I have tried to make a kind of dance theater that risked being truthful while still being very concerned about the experience of the viewer. This goal has lead to the development of a genre of dance theater that integrates storytelling, voice, and deeply physical dancing.
