Joe Goode Performance Group presents an astounding dance theater
performance installation for our eco-conscious era. Staged in the
haunting, decadent beauty of the historic San Francisco Mint,
Traveling Light takes the audience on a journey through the vaults and
chambers of the oldest stone building in San Francisco.
With the international dialogue increasingly turning to
eco-consciousness, award winning director/choreographer Joe Goode
examines our relationship to excess. As we attempt to "travel light"
into the future, what do we take with us, and what must we leave
behind? What is the role of fossil fuels, of synthetic materials,
indeed of personal possessions? What does it mean to be "natural" and
do we still have that capacity in this overtly technological society?
Joe Goode Performance Group is legendary for creating fresh, engaging
dance theater. Experience their unique convergence of dance, language,
irony and reflection. With production and lighting design by Jack
Carpenter, music and sonic landscape by
Jay Cloidt.
